The value of poetry and literature.

Great authors and poets have transmitted their deep insights into the inner drives, actions and reactions of the human being. They have recognised how history has worked, and used this to move ahead. We too can use poetry and literature to steer new directions. This article relates to this, and discusses the impact of literature on the brain.

The need for a wholesome education

Despite other differences which we may have the university system, this article does well to highlight the importance of ‘soft skills’, and the providing of an education which prepares students for the future: “It is about realising professional potential. It isn’t about guaranteeing them jobs, but ensuring that when they go into interviews, for example, they have the knowledge, the soft skills, the networks, the experience.”
